HI93 and our sister station 1027 Da Bomb are partnering with Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers and Read To Me International Foundation to emphasize the benefits of reading to our keiki. As part of National Reading Month, Raising Cane’s is offering a place for parents to celebrate, gather and connect with their keiki by reading aloud. Every Sunday in March, at Raising Cane’s locations listed below, you can win prizes and enjoy a free reading session with local celebrities, including Phat Joe and Steezy!
“As parents, we all need to make time to read aloud to our young keiki,” says Hi93’s Phat Joe. “Read To Me International teaches us that reading not only gives us quality time together, but it also helps our keiki build their vocabulary, expand their imagination, and increase their knowledge of the world.”
Read To Me International is a local non-profit organization that provides parents with the skills and techniques to engage their keiki in a read aloud. Reading aloud is an activity that strengthens the bond between parent and child, helps children develop social-emotional skills, and paves the way for a child’s future success in school and later in life.
All events are free and open to the public, but seating is limited. Guests will be treated to Raising Cane’s famous lemonade and Ono Cake Pops from Hawaii Cupcake Factory while supplies last. The first 50 people to register online for each event will receive goodies including a Cane’s Reading Program Bookmark with a Free Cane’s Kids Combo certificate to use at any Raising Cane’s restaurant in Hawaii. In addition, all attendees present can sign-up for a drawing to receive a variety of family friendly prizes to include:
