Severe flooding across Oʻahu caused by recent Kona low storms has impacted neighborhoods, businesses, and families island wide. In times like these, our local community comes together—neighbors helping neighbors, local organizations stepping up, and residents showing true aloha spirit. Pacific Media Group is committed to supporting the local people of Hawaiʻi by sharing real-time updates, safety information, and essential flood recovery resources to help Oʻahu stay informed, connected, and resilient. WHERE TO VOLUNTEER:

*VOLUNTEER SAFETY NOTICE: The water, mud and debris may contain bacteria, sewage, pesticides, sharp objects, etc. For your safety, this is not optional: closed-toe boots (no slippers/sandals), gloves ( heavy-duty if possible), clothing that covers your skin, antibacterial cream/ointment for any cuts/exposure. If you have any open wounds, please take extra precautions or consider helping in safer ways.

Hawaiʻi Foodbank

  • Now, more than ever, people are facing food insecurity and counting on Hawaiʻi Foodbank. Volunteers are one of the most integral pillars of their operational framework, and they need the help of groups and individuals to provide access to food for families, kūpuna, keiki and other individuals who are facing hunger.

KEY Project

  • Join KEY Project as a volunteer to support the functions and operations in effectively serving the needs of our diverse multicultural community.

Makaha Beach Community Clean Up

Bring your ʻohana, your friends, and anyone willing to help mālama our ʻāina. Gloves and trash bags will be provided. Closed-toe/covered shoes are REQUIRED (for your safety). Feel free to bring your own tools (rakes, buckets, etc.)

Oahu Storm Relief

  • Encouraging those who are ready to volunteer to join the organized relief effort so we can concentrate the help, reduce traffic, and go to the areas of greatest need.

Capitol Modern

Capitol Modern is currently accepting donations at MORI, located on the lobby floor. Please visit the link for a full list of items needed.

  • Wednesday 3/25, Friday, 3/27 and Saturday 3/28 from 10am to 3pm

Kākoʻo Koʻolau

Support families and students who have been impacted by the Kona storms. All items will be delivered to KEY Project.

  • Windward Community College, Collection Hub, Aloha Center, Hale ʻĀkoakoa 130
  • 3/25-4/2 (excluding Kūhiō day 3/26, and the weekend 3/28, 3/29) from 7am to 5pm

Waikīkī Community Center

Partnering with State Representative Adrian Tam, the Waikīkī Community Center will be accepting donations for those affected.

  • Waikīkī Community Center, 310 Paoakalani Ave, Honolulu, HI 96815
  • Thursday 3/26 from 8:30am to 12pm
  • People can drive into the parking lot using the entrance on Paoakalani Ave. volunteers will be on hand to collect.

FUND DONATIONS:

Aloha United Way

  • Aloha United Way has activated its Community Relief Fund to support disaster response and recovery efforts for individuals and families, as well as nonprofit organizations serving on the front lines to respond to the catastrophic flooding events that have impacted thousands of residents.

American Red Cross

  • The Red Cross and partners are mobilized and bringing relief to people affected by the recent Kona Low Storm. Their priority is to provide comfort, care, and hope to anyone in need.

Hawaiʻi Agricultural Foundation

  • Hawaiʻi’s farmers face ongoing challenges—from severe storms to unexpected disruptions that threaten crops, livelihoods, and local food production. Your donation provides direct support to farmers in times of need, helping them recover, rebuild, and continue feeding our communities.

Hawaiʻi Community Foundation

  • The Stronger Hawai‘i Fund is a dedicated fund designed to support statewide disaster and emergency related preparedness, response, recovery, mitigation, and resilience.
